REFLECTIONS

Experiences

Through various assignments and projects this semester, I have improved my ability to complete tasks more efficiently and creatively. The most challenging part is balancing the creative and functional aspects of time management. For example, on a project, I had a hard time articulating my ideas at first, but through continuous improvement and feedback, I learned to express and refine my concepts better.

Observations

In this semester, I have found that mastering the operation of tools is an important step to improve the quality of design, especially when working with Adobe Illustrator and FontLab. For example, in Adobe Illustrator, I learned how to use alignment tools and path finders to ensure accuracy and consistency of shapes. In addition, I realized that maintaining font uniformity in FontLab is an important part of font design, such as adjusting stroke thickness, aligning baselines, and optimizing character spacing, all of which are crucial to the overall typography.

Findings

An important takeaway is that even small adjustments can have a huge impact on the end result. For example, when working on Task 3, I found that fine-tuning colors, spacing, or proportions often made the design more coordinated and refined. Similarly, I find it important to set clear design goals from the start. This not only helps me stay focused, but also allows me to work on a topic more efficiently. Overall, I've found that growth often comes from stepping out of your comfort zone and taking on challenges.😺
