FINAL PROJECT

1. Video appreciation:
Watch stop motion short, share 3 of your favourites in your blog under Final Project section

VIDEO 1  https://youtube.com/shorts/zC6kGkxeeP8?si=1T580WGz9Ajr290a
This is the work of one of my favorite stop-motion animators. The reason why I chose this video is that both the animation and audio are smooth, very realistic, and the lighting is very warm. Each frame of the animation can be precisely linked together, like a camera recording cutting a real avocado.

This animation tells a story about tinfoil man. My favorite part is the interaction between the hand and the tinfoil man in the animation. In the front part, the action of the tinfoil man throwing away the pencil in anger is very powerful and heavy. In the back part, the chasing link of the tinfoil man of different sizes is also very story sense.

This animation tells a story about a bench. The author uses clay to shape figures and bread, and every movement is very vivid. I noticed that around the 30th second of the animation, the author even made the stomach bounce of the character when he jumped on the bench, and the character's desire to eat bread when he blinked, which was really interesting. I think the author must be a very patient and technical person.

2. Stop motion

Proposal :

Working process :
We chose to make this stop-motion animation with wool felt and clay to restore the wool effect of the lamb and give the character more texture and realism. Throughout the production process, we used mobile phones to shoot, and Adobe Premiere Pro was used for post-editing.

After the initial production was completed, we edited out the first version of the animation and asked the teacher for comments. The teacher pointed out some shortcomings in our work, for example, the speed of some shots was too fast, so that the audience could not understand the plot clearly; In addition, some of Lamb's key actions lack close-ups, failing to effectively highlight the emotions and core of the character's story.

We have made improvements to address these problems. In the second edition, the pace of the shot was adjusted, key scenes were slowed down, and some incomplete scenes were re-shot so that the audience could understand the plot more clearly. At the same time, we added close-ups to the important movements of the lamb, focusing on the movements of the lamb, making its performance more vivid and full of tension.

Final Video :

REFLECTION

After the study of the whole semester, I have a deeper understanding of the process of video production. From learning the basics of Adobe Premiere Pro to exploring the creative possibilities of sound and video editing. I have not only improved my technical skills, but also my artistic sense. Especially in the production process of stop-motion animation for the final task, I feel that great patience and precision are required. This task taught me that small details like scene transitions and object placement can have a big impact on the flow and quality of the finished product.

By practicing Adobe Premiere Pro, I mastered basic skills like editing, adding effects, and adjusting audio, while also experimenting with advanced techniques like color correction and sound design. These skills are crucial in our stop-motion projects, where color correction brings the images to life and sound effects enhance the story. In addition, I also learned the importance of different focal lengths and composition in photography, which has a great impact on the completion of the shooting results and the variety of shots.

Reviewing the whole semester, I learned a lot of interesting and practical knowledge. But at the same time, this experience also made me realize that I still have a lot to learn, such as optimizing the choice of shooting angles and strengthening the use of software skills. Micro-film shooting and stop-motion animation was a big challenge, which sparked my interest in exploring creative storytelling methods. I like the courses of this semester very much, and I also appreciate the guidance of the teachers. I hope I can continue to learn this knowledge in the future!🎥
