PROCESS

For this task, our group chose the topic of the top 10 Mayaysia slang.
Our group members are:
  • TAY YUE CHERN (373215)
  • YONG YI WEN (364329)
  • FENG SHIWEN (374595)

Based on the data we collected, we began to create the  proposal and script for this task:

Next is our storyboard. We decided to adopt a collage style, using high-contrast blue and orange as the color theme, and adding some cat memes as our story's main characters. This makes the content both interesting and in line with our relaxed theme. We completed the storyboard production in groups. I was responsible for the slang used in sections 6 to 10.

After we confirmed with Mr. Fauzi, here are some preparations we made for the final video.

Experiences

This course has been a genuinely interesting experience. Throughout the semester, the L.A.T.C.H. design principles were consistently used, which helped me understand how to organise information more clearly in practice. Our group project was especially enjoyable because we chose a topic we were interested in and continuously refined our ideas together. Through discussion and collaboration, we were able to gradually improve our work and reach a final outcome that reflected our shared effort.

Observations

One key observation from this course is that clarity is essential in information design. A visually appealing design alone is not enough without clear structure and hierarchy. The L.A.T.C.H. framework helped guide our decisions and encouraged us to think from the user’s perspective. I also noticed that repeated iteration and feedback played an important role in improving the quality of our work.

Findings

By the end of the course, I became more confident in applying information design principles. I realised that information design is not just about aesthetics, but about making content understandable and accessible. Through our group project, we successfully translated an interesting topic into a clear and engaging design, and this experience has given me useful skills that I can carry forward into future projects.
