REFLECTION

  • What I have learnt in this module?

At the beginning of the course, I learned how to appreciate artworks from the perspective of design principles. I realized that many aspects of our daily lives, which we often overlook, are actually filled with thoughtful design. Additionally, I learned how to improve my own work by following design principles and aligning my designs with the intended message of the piece.


  • What did I enjoy the most?

My favorite part was Task 2, where we had to create sketches. This process made me think carefully about what I wanted to express, how to express it, and whether my design would leave a strong impression on others. I really enjoyed exploring different approaches and refining my ideas step by step.


  • What did I not enjoy the most?

The part I liked the least was selecting appropriate works to match design principles in Task 1. Sometimes, the images I found didn’t fully align with the principles, and other times, I struggled to figure out what kind of images would be suitable. This often led to spending a lot of time searching.


  • What have I learnt about myself in this module?

I learned how to create compositions that incorporate multiple design elements. Before this course, I would design artworks in my free time, but I often felt stuck because my compositions seemed too plain or lacked a strong structure. Through this course, I began applying design principles to enrich my work, making my compositions feel more meaningful and visually engaging rather than simple and unpolished.


  • What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?

My perspective on artwork has changed. When I see an impressive piece now, I no longer just think, “Wow, this looks amazing!” Instead, I start analyzing what kind of composition, color scheme, or design techniques were used to highlight the focal point.


  • What are my aspirations?

I hope that through this course, I can significantly improve my design skills and develop a stronger foundation for future creative projects.😋
